The Difference Between Success and Failure

The best ideas always come to me during my workout routine - a 4-mile run or 2.5 mile round trip to/from the gym for weight training 4-5 days per weekif you don't already have a great reason to work out regularly maybe this will help motivate you!

Mastering A Million

I read somewhere recently that the majority of women business owners earn less than $30,000 per year and that very few take their business to the $1 million revenue mark. These statistics make me nuts. If you know me, you know I am REALLY passionate about women succeeding in their businesses and the fact that I like to put my goals out there. So here it goes: I plan to break into that small percentage of $1M women-owned businesses. And, I think that just saying this – publicly – is going to help me get there; now I'm accountable to you ;).

Thankful

I swore I would not do anything "official business" today, but one thing I've learned is that when inspiration hits, it's a good idea to jump on it!

Nearly 4 years ago I put "fitness" in my bullseye, which for me meant getting off my ass and getting in shape, no more excuses. My youngest was 4 at the time and I could only milk the 10 lb 10 oz baby excuse (really!) for so long.

Get Your CEO On

I love the phrase "Get Your CEO On" - the post below post from DailyWorth is just what I needed to get some clarity on how to get my CEO on; thanks DailyWorth! At the end of the post they inspire you to "suit up" and name three ways you can get your CEO on. Here are my three:

  1. (insert humor)... Get over myself! Understand that I cannot and should not do everything myself in order to be a successful leader and grow my business.
  2. Become an excellent manager of people - delegate and motivate them to do a great job.
  3. Choose the biggest chunk of work I am doing that I should be MANAGING, and hire someone to do it - right now.

Put Your Goals in the Bulls-eye

In 2008, when Key Marketing was just a year old, I helped the Women’s Business Forum plan and run the 2nd annual IDEAS Expo. We were fortunate to have Lynn Doyle as our keynote speaker, and I have been eager to tell this story – to Lynn and to anyone that might benefit from it – since it has been life-changing for me. Initially I took it to heart for my personal goals, and now three years later, Lynn’s advice is having a direct impact on my business success.
